Why is it called “Seven-Star Park”?

The park is named after the seven peaks inside it, which are arranged in the same pattern as the Big Dipper constellation (Ursa Major). These peaks belong to two karst mountains: Putuo Mountain (four peaks) and Crescent Mountain (three peaks).
History of Seven-Star Park

The park area has been a famous scenic site since the Tang Dynasty (7th–10th century).
It has long been a place of worship, poetry, and retreat for scholars and monks.
During World War II, it also served as a base for Chinese resistance fighters.
Opened to the public in modern form in the 1950s, the park blends natural geology with cultural relics and patriotic history.
