What is Fanjing Mountain?
Fanjing Mountain is a mystical and secluded place, known for its peculiar rock formations, sea of clouds, ancient temples built on sheer cliffs, and rare wildlife. The name “Fanjing” is short for “Fantian Jingtu”, meaning “Brahma’s Pure Land” in Buddhism. It is considered one of the Five Sacred Buddhist Mountains in China, particularly important in Maitreya Buddha worship.
This mountain remained relatively unknown and undeveloped for centuries due to its isolation, which has helped preserve its pristine ecological environment and spiritual atmosphere.

History and culture of Fangjin Mountain
Buddhism was introduced to Fanjing as early as the Tang Dynasty (7th–10th century), but its religious significance grew during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, when numerous temples and meditation sites were built.
